IAA Passenger Cars 2011, Frankfurt/Main
"The world's primary mobility exhibition exceeded our expectations in every respect. It is an awesome IAA – with more premieres, more exhibitors, more floor space, and more visitors," said Matthias Wissmann, President of the German Automobile Association (VDA).
The motto "Zukunft serienmäßig" (future as a standard feature) was the program of this IAA. Take for example electromobility: with the IAA 2011, the trend that started two years ago with individual concept cars has become an inherent part of this trade show. According to Wissmann, all German manufacturers will bring electric cars to the market by 2013.
Analogue to this development, the suppliers showed great innovative force, evidenced by 94 world premieres. The German manufacturers sent more than 5,000 developers and 2,000 purchasers to the IAA. The frequency and intensity of the dialogue with the customers kept the booth personnel extremely busy.
Also ZF Friedrichshafen focuses on innovative products to achieve growth. At the IAA, they positioned themselves as technology leaders. Their emphasis was on innovations to reduce energy consumption and emissions.
Many of the new cars presented at the trade show use drive and chassis technology by ZF. The automotive supplier develops and produces components, units, and systems for all renowned car manufacturers, from A for Audi A6 Avant to Z for Zafira Tourer by Opel.
ElringKlinger prepared for the rush of trade visitors with a new, larger trade booth whose clear design was an eye-catcher directly at the entrance to Hall 4. The cell contacting system for lithium ion batteries that held pride of place at the booth entrance, as well as the fuel cell stack that extends the range of electric motors proved to be true visitor magnets.
The DEKRA provides another kind of contribution to the growth and success of its customers: the certifications and product tests carried out in the DEKRA high-tech labs for lighting engineering significantly support the development work of the car manufacturers and their suppliers. A new way to help reduce the number of young traffic accident victims.
Our customers' goals and offers differ greatly but they have two things in common: they trust in the successful trade show presentation by Messebau Keck, and they look forward to the next IAA.
