A Herculean task: infrastructure in India – ZF make good use of their opportunities

16.11.2011

IREE, New Delhi and INMEX, Mumbai

For a number of years to come, urgently needed infrastructure projects will turn the whole of India into a giant building site. This is good news for construction machine manufacturers and boosts the demand for the drive technology and axle systems for engines from the ZF group.

The railway and shipping sectors are another motor of the self-assured, growing India.  The IREE in New Delhi is the only international trade show in India that focuses the various fields of the railway sector. For the shipping industry, the INMEX in Mumbai is the most important trade show.
It goes without saying that ZF Friedrichshafen make good use of the opportunity to participate in these two growth markets.

Exhibiting at a trade show in a boom country also brings real challenges: lack of infrastructure and partly different notions about quality –sometimes perfection and punctuality do not correspond to German standards.

Mr Witulski, ZF's Head of Trade Fairs and Shows, comments: "In spite of all the difficulties and circumstances at the show – the visibility in the hall was maybe 50 m – our booth had been realized extremely well.
You just cannot expect to find the same conditions in India as in Germany; for example, here they don't have any extraction systems for saws etc."

Nevertheless, Messebau Keck and their Indian partner successfully presented the technology leader ZF in their specified corporate design. This was a perfect start for the Joint Venture of the two companies that will partner in "Keck Genesis Exhibitions India" from 1st November 2011.
